HOW TO CHOSE A LAPTOP BAG

Laptop bags are everywhere, so how do I choose the right one for me? There are a few considerations when selecting a bag for your laptop.First the main types of styles available in the market are backpacks, messenger bags, notebook cases, shuttle & sleeves and wheels. Style of a laptop bag depends on how you travel to your work place.

The second thing you should consider is the material of the bag. Cheaper laptop bags are made up of nylon. But it is a smart idea to choose a leather case. Leather cases are more durable and stylish.

The dimension of your laptop is very important to have before selecting a bag for it. The size of the screen is the most important. Your laptop bag should have an extra space for accessories like charger, extra battery and a book or two. Don't forget to check the padding of the bag. A bag without padding can't protect your laptop against external damage.

HANDBAGS, MESSENGER BAGS AND A BIT OF HISTORY

Have you ever wondered about the orgin of bags, purse or pouch have been used by man (and woman) every since people have had something precious to carry around with them. Peasants in the early rural societies used bags to carry seed, African priest carried beaded bags that's in a painting dated 480 B.C. Who would have guessed that ancient pouches would evolve into expensive and essential fashion statements we know today. Handbags first came into use in the early 1900's and were referred to as hand- held luggage bags.these early bags would quickly become a sign of status as well as a practical necessity.

The messenger bag originated in the 1950's they were being produced as a bag for telephone linemen, by Globe Canvas/De Martini in New york. the linemen needed a bag they could easily access while climbing poles, this design work well. by the 1970 bicycle messenger companies pick them up, as sort of and identifier they purchased one color per company. New York City was the bastion of messenger bag for a long while until thing started to spread in the 1980's. Small messenger bag manufactures sprung up in various cities in the 1980's to address the need of the growing professions. The messenger bags has become a main stream accessory over the years.1989 brought the beginnings of San Francisco-based Timbuk2 and Toronto-based (now in British Columbia) Pac Designs. These two companies were the forefront of the 3rd generation of modern messenger bags, inspired by their own interpretations of the DeMartini design as filtered through the lens of Manhattan Portage, Zo Bags and Courier ware. Pac ushered in the blossoming of the highly-customized messenger bag, taking a leap from the very basic "big bag with a shoulder strap" to offering bags that converted from single to dual shoulder strap arrangements, and a whole spectrum of add-on, pockets and sub dividers.

The Native Americans used backpacks, sometimes configured as a woven basket with shoulder straps, sometimes as a flat board to which gear could be lashed. Pioneers in America copied the Native American packs, and inventor name John Merriam got a patent on an early form of frame pack in 1886. His backpack had a frame with a waist belt that help stabilize the weigh.Backpacks are leather or cloth sack carried on the back and carried with one or two straps that go over the shoulders. Backpacks are usually preferred over other bags for heavier loads since the shoulders can carry the weight better for a longer period of time. Large backpacks, those designed to carry more than 20 pounds, offload the weight onto padded hip belts, which permits the shoulder straps to stabilize the weight. This permits greater weight loads since the hips are stronger than the shoulders and the weight is closer to the person’s center of gravity.

Backpacks, as a word, originated in the United States in the early 20th century and despite other permutations of the word continues to be the most popular term for this type of bag, although backpacks are referred to as packs, particular hiking backpack.

THE BEGINNING BAG WERE POUCHES

Early bags were basically a pouch. The pouch was a common design for 16Th century Germany. Most fabric for the pouch was woven in 2-ply wool on wrap-weighted loom. they took a small round piece of this fabric sewn a strip of leather around the edges. When the draw string was pulled, a pouch was formed They used bags to carry their valuables and coins, and these item were kept safe by attaching it to what was called a ''girdle'' which were fastened to the waist.Pouches were often cut and stolen from behind by thieves and were soon nick named ''cut purse'' The men carried sword and generally kept the bag tied near the sword, and his valuable could be protected with ease.

In the 16Th century pouches were made in a much more appropriate manner; with the using of every day materials such as leather to establish a composition which was perfect for holding every day possession. At this point in history, bags also took on the cross-body style used some time today. The drawstring strap went diagonally across the body to hold the bag on the hip.

After the French Revolution, the full skirts of the ancient regime became less popular in favor of a more slender and narrow dress. These slender dresses left no room beneath for pockets or pouches and consequently, pocket or pouches were discarded. Handbags came back out into the open in the form of ''reticules'' or ''indispensable'' as the English's call them, suggesting that women had already largely dependence on their handbag. In the reticules one would find smelling salt, sent bottle, a fan, face powder and card case.
